Are you a skilled finance professional looking for an opportunity in the finance field? A company in the Whitby, Ontario area has a dire need for a Senior Financial Analyst. This position is directly responsible for operationilizing and cultivating data-driven planning processes and improving upon monthly and quarterly reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst will be in charge of driving world class strategic and financial planning methods, developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness, and building long-range operating plans to support business initiatives. You will supply revenues and expenses, variance analysis of bookings, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. Prior experience in coordinating various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations, will be crucial to the success of this role. Responsibilities

- Watch monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources

- Demonstrate monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

- Work in close collaboration with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

- Manage weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

- Provide assistance to Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

- Overview performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

- Utilize effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

- Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization

- Comprehend and clarify internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

- Make and supervise forecasting reports


- CPA designation is required


- 3+ years' experience with advanced financial analysis, planning and budget controls required


- Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions


- Corporate Financial Planning experience


- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel


- Excellent presentation skills


- Experienced with financial reporting tools
