Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:

Required:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with related experience in hospital financial and utilization data is an asset Hold a recognized professional designation (CPA), or currently pursing/have an interest in pursuing is an asset Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Knowledge of the Canadian Institute Health Information MIS Guidelines and the Ministry of Heath OHRS guidelines Possess advanced technical skills in MS Office, particularly Excel skills with the ability to create advanced logical, look up and reference formulas, tables, pivot tables, charts and graphs Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment Ability to manage workload to meet tight deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong ability to formulate, gather, analyze and present financial and statistical information from a variety of data set to reach a valid conclusion in a clear and concise report Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques required Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems Strong presence with the ability to interact with senior leadership Financial modeling expertise a plus Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records Adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
