Job Description

Department: UHN Reactivation Care Centre
Reports to: Clinical Manager
Closing Date:  May 24, 2024 

Duties 

Performing comprehensive assessments of patients and plan individual and group interventions Collaborating in an inter-professional environment in providing patient focused care Contributing to program planning and development Planning, implementing and evaluating Recreation Therapy interventions Complying with, and commitment to, patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure studies with a major/emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Kinesiology, Physical Education, Psychology or Health Studies).  Post-diploma in Therapeutic Recreation.  Membership in either a Provincial, National, State or International Therapeutic Recreation Professional Association.  Basic Cardiac Life Support – Level C, Healthcare Provider.  Minimum of 2 years experience in the practice of Therapeutic Recreation.  Expertise in planning, implementation and evaluation of Therapeutic Recreation interventions.  Excellent organizational and communication skills  Sound judgment and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
