As you progress in this role, you will undergo a structured development path to eventually assume the role of IT Manager as our current manager prepares for retirement. This position is designed for individuals eager to continuously learn, evolve, and lead in adopting AI as it applies to engineering and IT processes. Your role will be crucial not only in managing our current IT landscape but also in pioneering the integration of AI technologies, ensuring that our organization remains at the cutting edge of industry developments.

You will be pivotal in shaping our IT landscape, proactively anticipating future needs and resolving challenges before they arise. Additionally, once the manager retires, you will likely be tasked with overseeing a small team, providing guidance and mentorship to drive collective success. In this leadership position, you’ll inspire your team to embrace AI, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement and navigating the complexities of integrating AI into our existing systems and workflows, setting new standards for excellence within our IT department.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up computers, phones, and user accounts for new employees
  • Provide helpdesk and deskside services
  • Manage the network and firewall
  • Backup administration
  • Administer Windows servers and virtualization
  • Implement AI tools for task automation, enhanced security, and data insights.
  • Utilize AI for improved data management and analytical integration.
  • Lead AI tech research and pilot projects to shape company strategy.
  • Deliver AI tool training and support for company-wide adoption.

Position Qualifications:

  • Experience in network device management (switch/firewall)
  • Familiarity with Linux, especially NGINX webserver / Proxy
  • Proficiency in Windows 10/11 desktop environment
  • Experience with Active Directory and Office 365 administration
  • Knowledge of Windows Server versions 2012-2022
  • Scripting experience in any language
  • Experience with cloud-based servers, such as Azure
  • Familiarity with SharePoint administration
  • Familiarity with web servers
  • Practical experience in applying AI for IT automation and data analysis
  • Proficiency in AI and machine learning frameworks for technological integration and innovation

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Enthusiastic with a strong willingness to learn
  • Proficiency in Windows Server Administration
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and applications, experience with the preparation of clear and comprehensive reports, construction execution plans, technical notes and client presentations.
