What you’ll be doing in the role:
Manage the daily accounting operations of the regional locations to ensure that all transactions are recorded in compliance with dealership accounting processes and policies. Manage the full controllership of the financials for the dealerships, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements. Oversee accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review. Collaborate with department managers to analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize profitability. Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success. Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings as required. Continually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership.
Here’s what you will need to be successful:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or pursuing CPA designation is preferred. 7 or more years’ related accounting / finance experience, with at least 3 in a supervisory role. Automotive industry experience is mandatory for this role, including a solid understanding of industry accounting principles and practices, including inventory management, floor plan financing, manufacturer incentives. Strong computer skills including MS Office. CDK experience is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), knowledge in CDK is an asset. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization. Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing and developing a team.
