Job Description

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on Air Transat's ground equipment and heavy and light vehicles.
  • Diagnose breakdowns on company trucks and vehicles.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on conventional and diesel engines;
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs on various equipment;
  • Perform various welding tasks;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Qualifications

Qualifications for the heavy vehicle mechanic are :

  • Training in vehicle mechanics or equivalent;
  • Experience in the mechanical field
  • Bodywork experience with welding skills (mig and tig),
  • Experience and good skills as a painter;
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting and blueprint reading an asset
  • Strong desire to learn all facets of the trade
  • Team spirit, resourcefulness, ability to meet tight deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of propane, electric, diesel and gas-powered equipment;
  • MOT card (Transport Canada Pass)
  • Valid class D driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain RAIC card and DA drivers permit (Airport pass from Transport Canada);
