Works on assignments that are complex in nature in which considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Performs a wide variety of research and development laboratory basic design tasks and experiments associated with the introduction of new technologies. Design tasks includes new materials, process, or device technologies and involves experiments, fabrication, assembly, prototyping, characterization, and testing. Performs complex data collection, analysis, documentation and presentation of results. Maintains records and complies with regulatory requirements, safety regulations and Standard Operating Procedures. Design basic equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, yield and special maintenance/production needs. Monitor tool performance and recognize out of specifications. Performs highly complex troubleshooting and calibration of instruments. Diagnoses highly complex problems and defines, recommends, and implements solutions/preventative correction actions. Able to explain, teach and prove problem diagnosis. May perform a wide variety of characterization and/or test measurements and data analysis of R&D material. May be responsible for maintenance of laboratory areas which can include new equipment installation, maintenance and upgrades. May weigh, measure and check materials to assure batches contain proper ingredients and quantities. May write SOPs. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May provide work leadership to junior technicians through assignment of work, training, coordination and checking of assignments. Math and basic algebra skills are required for procedural calculations.

Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Dorval, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
