Job Description

The Specialist, Engineering Design and System Administration performs duties related to the on-going development and support of Enerkem’s Engineering & Design Systems, Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications, and other Engineering Applications. Your role and responsibilities will be the following:

The Specialist, Engineering Design and System Administration performs duties related to the on-going development and support of Enerkem’s Engineering & Design Systems, Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications, and other Engineering Applications. Participates in the design, development, implementation, configuration and maintenance of specifications and standards for engineering drawings, specifications, processes, and software. Manages related technical documentation, changes, configuration control and documents. Provides Engineering & Design Systems, Computer Aided Design (CAD), and other Engineering Applications expertise as a design Subject Matter Expert (SME), demonstrating best practice usage and ongoing support to the user community. Performs Projects setup, configuration, and project-specific customization for Engineering & Design Systems, Computer Aided Design (CAD), and other Engineering Applications. Administers Engineering & Design systems by searching, analyzing, evaluating, predicting, and determining technical needs for maintenance processes and support of systems and applications. Reviews, evaluates, and conducts preliminary feasibility studies with respect to proposed changes, enhancements and/or development. Responsible for the needs determination, planning, development, organization, upgrade, modification, testing, training, and deployment of software applications for continuous development and support of Engineering & Design systems and interfacing systems and outputs. Responsible for the collection, building, organization, modification, accuracy, and control of data/information related to Engineering & Design systems using database tools, CAD expertise and emerging technology. Manages the technical documentation to ensure that it accurately reflects the current state of all applicable specifications, processes, and data. This includes creating, revising, and updating IT diagrams, specifications, alerts, and modification instructions to document new configurations changes to systems. Provides engineering design, technical support, and subject matter expertise (SME) in CAD and other Engineering Applications, including installation, configuration, training, design, and best practice usage. Reviews, analyses, and evaluates systems, CAD software, and other Engineering applications and recommends/selects new software, updates to existing software or techniques to increase the cost effectiveness and/or efficiency. Recommends and manages training program for Engineering & Design Systems, CAD software and Other Engineering applications. Maintains an awareness of emerging technologies and proposes changes with regards to evolving technology for CAD and engineering systems. Identifies and recommends technological needs and specific long-term programs to be included in related investment programs. reviews project work and resolves team and project problems, ensuring compliance with ENERKEM procedures. Ensures the satisfaction of user needs by proper response to the demands or suggestions from the users. Ensures engineering systems software and hardware operate efficiently and as intended on ENERKEM network infrastructure and interfaces with providers for hardware selection, software testing and integration for release to end users

Qualifications

A University or college degree/diploma in a related field. Minimum 2-5 years of related work experience is required. Knowledge of plant design software packages (Hexagon, Bentley, Autodesk, etc…) a plus. Exposure to and comprehension of Data-centric environment a plus. Knowledge of Engineering inter-disciplinary workflows a plus Bilingual (French and English) is essential.
