TheOpportunity

Jump in and imagine the possibilities as aConstruction Director with Pomerleau. Using your proven experience and technical expertise, you will be aleader in construction and project management, delivery and excellence. You are known for keeping construction andengineering best practices top of mind while exhibiting a high degree ofprofessionalism and expertise in client presentation, negotiation andinteraction on project progress. Withyour solution focused and team-oriented attitude, you will lead a collaborativeteam of construction professionals who match your drive for brilliance. Using your client centric approach andestablished technical expertise, you embrace the role of being a trusted leaderfor our team and steadfast advisor for our clients to successfully executeevery exciting and challenging project you lead.

Success is in the details and the core of whatyou do. As a Construction Director, youare a technical and scheduling guru keeping project goals,execution, people and communication always top of mind. What YOU Will Do

Grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision;
Support your construction and project management teams to develop and drive the construction schedule ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met;
Proficient in risk management and oversight of potential issues, implementing early mitigation.
Put your problem-solving skills to work and recommend innovative methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity;
Use your proactive approach to ensure compliance with our first-class Quality Program;
Utilize your experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities;
Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing;
Share your knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members;
Keep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updates;
Take pride in compiling and completing companywide project reports;
Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project
Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process.

What YOU Will Bring

10+ years’ experience in the ICI construction industry;
University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience;
Experience in successfully delivering major-large scale and highly complex Design Build/Public-Private Partnership (P3) projects; Healthcare an asset.
Track record of success in both Project Management and Site Management roles;
Familiarity with alternate contracts (DB, P3, or similar);
A proven track record of project leadership, success and team collaboration;
Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues to bring the project to successful completion;
Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, as well as building codes and associated legislation;
Role model status for health and safety as well as quality;
A passion to develop, maintain and execute the project schedule;
Good computer skills and previous experience with scheduling software;
Ability to work on a remote site
