Course MTH141 Semester/Term Fall 2024 Hours/Section - 4 Hours Estimated Number of Students: 270 with TAGA support
MTH 141 - Linear Algebra -- (Schedule - tbc)
Systems of linear equations and matrices. Determinants. Vector spaces. Inner product spaces. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors.
PLEASE NOTE: Course delivery can be online, in-person or hybrid at the sole discretion of the hiring unit. Candidates hired for in-person courses will be required to carry out their teaching on campus. Candidates teaching remotely are required to have access to the appropriate technology, i.e. computer with camera and microphone and high-speed internet.
a) A part-time hourly appointment / one semester is for less than 9 hours in any one semester.
PLEASE NOTE:Effective May 1, 2022, the University’s Vaccination Policy has been suspended. The Department reserves the right to alter the above posting by removing or adding courses due to enrolment or alterations in its budget.
TA/GA support is academically required to deliver the above course. The successful applicant will be provided appropriate TA/GA support.
Additionally, if eligible, the successful candidate will receive 20% of the total extra students payment as outlined in Article 17 of the Unit 1 Collective Agreement.
Qualifications
Evidence may be requested for all categories.
Education
PhD. or equivalent in field related to target course
Teaching Experience
Teaching target or similar course at Toronto Metropolitan undergraduate program or another university undergraduate program.
Currency
Academic publications more than 5 years ago or current (less than 5 years) professional profile (including professional or academic presentations).
Other demonstrated professional currency (practitioner writing, courses taken).
Interactive Skills
The following will be rated based on previous teaching ratings/evaluations:
