Instrumentation & Controls Designer

Wood is currently recruiting for Instrumentation and Controls Designers with experience in downstream and petrochemicals to join our Oil & Gas Canada team in Sarnia, ON.
Our projects team has a long history of delivering some of the biggest and most complex projects in the Canadian oilsands, along with associated pipelines and refinery infrastructure. Participating in design reviews and HAZOPs as needed Preparing and checking installation details. Assist in providing technical support to engineering groups at site. Manage assigned work effectively, including prioritizing, executing, managing schedule to meet project goals. Participates in site visits as required. Assures compliance with engineering procedures and quality control standards Development of Datasheets as well as specifying, selecting and sizing field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level), Control Valves, on/off valves, relief valves and control devices Prepare and review control deliverables such as Control system architecture, IO lists and assignments Quality checking and design for 2D Drafting and design. Preparing and Instrument Loop diagrams as well as Control Systems cabinets design and wiring. Responsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines Providing input to P&ID’s Have frequent contact with vendors, and internal staff Prepare Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations for various equipment within instrumentation and controls. Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation/Control Systems from an accredited University or College. 5+ years of instrumentation design experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. Experience within Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) is an asset Proven track record of successful projects. Highly motivated and organized. An understanding of Oil sands Safety acts, regulations and codes. Understanding and familiarity of ASME, CSA, TSSA and ISA codes and directives. Industry experience: Refining, Petrochemical, Gas Processing, and/or Midstream facilities. Registration through PEO as a or Limited License is an asset.-
