What Will You Do?

Responsible for onboarding and all required training of new and current drivers at the Mississauga terminal. Includes in cab ride along Train and assist with local and cross border drivers. Road test prospective drivers. Provide input to supervisor on hiring. Train prospective Erb employees for upgrading of their licences and any required retraining. (If M.T.O. signing authority) Check drivers’ licences with the M.T.O. on a regular basis. (If M.T.O. signing authority) Conduct safety meetings as required. Deliver pre-selected topics according to driver meeting schedule set out by supervisor. Ensure attendance is recorded Assist in interviewing and screening prospective drivers and brokers with Supervisor. Assist in log auditing and driver record maintenance in accordance with U.S. file requirements. Coaching of DriveCam events with drivers based in Mississauga. Maintain an overdue for coaching threshold of less than 10%. Aid in recruitment functions that require Driver Services staff in attendance. This includes but is not limited to terminal job fairs, industry truck shows. Ensure supply of new driver material is adequate. Assemble when required. Liaison to Terminal Manager with status updates on hiring and driver issues when the Driver Supervisor is absent. Ensure compliance of electronic driver files. All other duties as required.

Who Are We Looking For?

Valid AZ/ Class1 License MTO signing authority is an asset. 2-5 years of previous commercial driving experience required Disciplined and detail oriented with a commitment to follow policies and procedures Strong interpersonal skills as dealing with Operations staff, drivers, Driver Supervisor are essential. Knowledge of trucking industry. Willingness to advance educations. Team player
