Reporting to the Manager of Child and Adolescent Mental Health youwill be responsible for providing quality nursing

care to patients including complex patient populations whoseoutcomes are not predictable. As part of a

multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within theStandards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the

Philosophy of patient and family centered care, mission vision,values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional

Health Sciences Centre.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

* Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with theCollege of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to

become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario

* Current certification in BCLS

* Recent experience with child & youth in an acute/psychiatricmental health setting

* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Child, Youth and FamilyServices Act

* Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his

basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery

* Collaborates and provides consult to Registered Practice Nurse's(RPN) when patients assigned to the RPN

become unstable or have outcomes that are not as expected

* Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action

* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions

* Strong interprofessional and communication skills

* Demonstrated ability to coordinate patient care, involving theclient, family, child protection, other disciplines and

collateral agencies

In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:

* Current certification in Non‑violent Crisis intervention(NVCI) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

(ASIST)

* Have a certification or recent continuing education in MentalHealth or psychiatry

Salary Range: $39.070 to 56.000
