General Description of the Role

The primary goal of the Maintenance Electrician is to ensure production and building equipment reliability by maintaining the operation of all electrical and mechanical equipment while endorsing a high level of safety awareness

Key Relationships

Internal: Plant Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, HSES Manager, Quality Manager, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Customer Service/Logistics, Planning, and Procurement

External: Suppliers,Contractors, Government, and other regulatory entities

Overview of Role Responsibilities

Quality

Ensure maintenance activities are managed in compliance with all SOP’s to target quality outcomes.  Comply with all plant GMP, and food safety standards. Maintain tools, parts, and work areas to ensure a food safe environment. Work with appropriate internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and/or to resolve quality risks when identified.

Safety

In coordination with the site HSES Manger, ensure all maintenance operations comply with GMP practices and site safety rules. Comply with all PPE safety requirements for assigned work area. Adhere to and promote a safe working environment. This includes keeping all materials, supplies, tools and any other production related items in their place. Adherence to 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards is expected of the Maintenance Electrician. Be able to understand the operational limits and safety aspects associated with each piece of equipment (pumps, valves, electrical control systems, etc.) in the facility Be able to safely conduct a lock-out/tag-out procedure on each piece of equipment, line, and device in the field. Be capable of recognizing and communicating the risks associated with each of the products, chemicals, pieces of equipment, and electrical/pneumatic/mechanical devices located throughout the facility. Participate in safety meetings and root cause analysis (RCA) as designated.

Efficiency

Perform routine inspection, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and building asset electrical systems Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems throughout the facility Assist in the upgrades of existing equipment and installation of new equipment Complete and submit repair orders for maintenance work in the company CMMS (Megamation) Be able to correlate each piece of equipment, line, and device in the field with its representation in the CMMS Implement continuous improvement actions to close gaps of KPI’s or increase productivity as needed  Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to solve problems by attempting to identify and correct the root causes of events, as opposed to simply addressing their symptoms Support the bottling team in the efficient completion of line changeover activities Perform any other duties as assigned by management. This also includes working in other functional areas to cover absences or relief during peak periods or otherwise to balance the workload

Sanitation

This position is responsible for keeping the overall work area neat and clean. Employees shall be responsible for the general sanitation and housekeeping of the work area. This includes the responsible removal/disposal of any waste from the work area. Responsible for ensuring all bottling lines and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to CIP (clean-in-place) procedures and matrices.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education

High school diploma or GED Industrial Electrician C of Q or C of Q A

Experience

Forklift and scissor lift Working at heights

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Working knowledge of manufacturing/processing operations, preferably in the beverage alcohol category Ability to work collaboratively across department lines at all levels in a plant operation, influencing effectively with management as well as operations and line staff Basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems Basic understanding of shop equipment (Lathe, Mill, Grinders) Welding skills Motor/Gearbox installation and alignment Change out pump seals Clear understanding of Forklift and Pedestrian safety Physically able to lift up to kilograms Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word Proficiency in English

Essential Job Functions
