Title: Wellness Navigator, Substance Use
Contract: Temporary (3 year contract)
Location: Lheidli T’enneh (Prince George, BC)
About the role
As a Wellness Navigator Substance use, you will play a key role in advancing our Vision of promoting the “Healthy, Vibrant and Self-determining BC First Nations Children, Families, and Communities”. This role operates within a harm reduction approach in the context of drug decriminalization. Your mission is to guide individuals impacted by Substance Use (SU) toward solutions, services, and awareness, all while collaborating with lived experience voices, partners, and policing services. About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
3-5 year of recent and relevant experience and/or Certificate in Substance Use Prevention Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Naloxone training, First aid level 1 (with CPR), HEP B shot, and flue vaccine In depth knowledge of the BC health care system, and the current landscape of First Nations health in BCYou may have experience in the following roles: Recovery Coach, Wellness Advocate for Recovery, Wellness Engagement Liaison.

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
