Senior Collections Specialist 9-month contract – Position Overview 

The Senior Collections Specialist position is accountable for assisting the Manager with identifying and mitigating risks both debtor/client related, assisting with escalations such as: surety bonds/ insurance claims and shipper/receiver. In addition, the senior is also accountable to support with the new hire training and in the moment coaching and support for team members. The senior may be assigned to specialty client and/or debtor accounts as needed.

This Role will be successful if: Defined department goals and activity metrics are met Risks related to debtors/clients are identified and mitigated New employees/hires feel supported in training Escalations are managed appropriately To achieve those goals the Senior Accounts Collections Specialist will: Act as point of escalation for team questions and for client/debtor escalations Provide in the moment coaching and support to team members Assist with training of new hires Ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and on time Act with other departments to resolve problems Support manager with miscellaneous tasks and assignments Spot trends and opportunities to improve team performance Additional items to be added as time permits Oversight Activities/Specific Duties Point of escalation for team questions and for client/debtor escalations Responsible for collections on accounts at risk Assist in Escalations such as: surety bonds/insurance claims/ shipper receiver Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process, and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments. Enlist the efforts of management when necessary to accelerate the collection process. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Account Managers/ clients/debtors Weekly and monthly reporting to manager Participate in team planned meetings Oversee specialty accounts and relationships Provide excellent & considerate customer service Requirements:   You must have at least 6 months experience with eCapital, preferably in the Collections This role requires full time presence in the Orillia, Canada office  Only top 3 candidates will be selected for an interview
