As the Associate Director Market Access you will play a critical leadership role to achieve our company’s mission of transforming the lives of patients living with severe autoimmune diseases. You will be responsible for developing and executing innovate Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Market Access programs in collaboration with one of Canada’s most experienced rare disease teams. Reporting to the Senior Director of Market Access, Government Relations & Policy, you will interact broadly with your Canadian and global colleagues in HEOR, medical, marketing, finance and commercial operations to co-create and execute access plans. You will lead HTA submissions and interact with CADTH and INESSS, public and private payors, patient organizations and third-party partners.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate thrives in an innovative environment and takes personal and professional satisfaction in building new access pathways for new treatments that will transform lives. In this role you will partner broadly across the organization to build HTA dossiers for upcoming indications and products, and contribute significantly to the brand strategy. The role will be responsible for negotiating access with private payors and providing expertise to the Patient Support Program (PSP) to support reimbursement. The incumbent will lead internal teams, manage vendors, partner directly with Global HEOR and patient advocacy colleagues and will play a key role in developing market access and business strategies.

• Lead the strategic planning and execution of new HTA files with CADTH and INESSS
• Support the development of the value proposition for innovative new therapies
• Lead the strategic planning and execution of submissions to key private payors
• Partner directly and effectively with medical to help understand the current and future states of disease management and patient care
• Lead negotiations with private payors and support the development of innovative agreements, including business plans
• Provide leadership support to the patient support program (PSP) to assist with private coverage of argenx products
• Provide strategic guidance on current and evolving business opportunities within the argenx product pipeline
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Canadian team and global HEOR and Patient Advocacy Colleagues
• Be an enthusiastic and humble champion for the Canadian business while leveraging opportunities to share your expertise in support of global HEOR and access initiatives
• Collaborate directly with the key account managers (sales team) to support their individual business plans and ongoing knowledge of the Canadian access environment
• Manage third-party suppliers
• Proactively identify potential marketplace trends/barriers well as the overall payer landscape and respond to any identified reimbursement, coverage issues and market access challenges
• Represent argenx on key industry committees and with external partners
• Embrace and demonstrate the argenx cultural pillars of excellence, innovation, empowerment, co-creation and humility
 
Skills and Requirements: 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, rare disease experience preferred but not required
• Health Technology Assessment (HTA) experience 
• In-depth understanding of Canada’s private and public reimbursement processes
• Demonstrated ability to develop and grow relationships with external stakeholders
• Industry organization experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills – bilingual (English and French) preferred
• Experience operating in an cross functional, matrix environment
• Willingness to learn, fail, ask questions and share your opinion
• Ability to think strategically, compliantly and bring a high level of creativity to the organization
