Objective
Improve the efficiency and productivity of electrical maintenance personnel and third party electrical services through good planning, follow up and optimization of all preventive and corrective electrical tasks. The objective is to achieve the set targets for equipment net availability at the lowest optimum and sustainable maintenance cost, in collaboration with all involved departments, following the maintenance guidelines

Responsibilities

Safety:

Guarantee compliance with OH&S and environment policies for electrical personnel. Establish safety culture and tackle specific actions to ensure health and safety prevention during maintenance activities. Contribute to plant housekeeping and cleanliness. Serve as a role model in the areas of safety, environmental stewardship, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.

Environmental Considerations:

In consultation with the Environmental Manager, ensure that all regulatory requirements associated with the carrying out of operational duties are completed as required by the relevant regulation, certificate, or permit. Ensure the expected reliability of emissions monitoring equipment at Bath plant by PM programs spare parts and regular maintenance services if required.

Electrical Maintenance Planning:

Planning and scheduling of all corrective and preventive electrical maintenance routines in SAP PM / DMS together with the specific execution responsibly. Generation and optimization of the 52 week workload balancing sheet by department / specialty / technique, targeting a good balance during the days of the year. Generates the detailed weekly and daily plans as well as the 13 week basic plan. Prioritizes the notifications coming from condition monitoring or others and generates corrective work orders in agreement with the requestor and keeps updated the Maintenance maintenance system SAP or similar about the PM program, new equipment and improvements detected.

Shutdown Planning:

Leads the preparation and consolidation of the shutdown electrical plan (personal, third party services, materials, spare parts, equipment, tools, time, and critical path) for all departments with coordination meetings using the Group planning guidelines and tools. Monitors the realization of the electrical maintenance plans and follow-up tasks defined in major shutdowns on a daily frequency. Plans all outage electrical work orders by assigning the required parts, tools, procedures, drawings, and outside resources to the work.

Goal Setting:

Assists in setting department objectives and in the development and execution of the annual maintenance budget. Writes detailed scopes of work for all major works, including shutdown activities. Tracks electrical maintenance costs daily and parts cost for all major projects and shutdowns. 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Ensure the tracking of performance indicators and achieved results. Provide regular reports and updates to the plant, local/regional bodies as required. Coordinates meetings with suppliers to stay updated on new tools and techniques available to optimize/facilitate the job execution. Participates in the After Action Review (AAR) for shutdown or major shutdowns. Promote implementation of the new group initiative initiatives with new technologies, AI, PoT, smart sensors and continuous condition monitoring systems.

Relationship with Others:

Reports to the Electrical Coordinator Works Independently and in small teams of laborers/contractors Supervises/Coordinates contractors and electricians as required to perform specific tasks Works with Electrical Coordinator and Supervisor; Mechanical Maintenance Planners, Production Managers and Supervisors; Process/Quality department; and Projects team

Specific Accountabilities:

Plans, reviews and optimizes SAP PM and DMS including all the electrical PM01 corrective and PM02 preventive routines establishing tasks, frequencies and workload balancing.  Optimizes and distribute the workload in a 52-week span Schedules weekly and daily maintenance work, 13 weeks out and for major outages Prioritizes and generates preventive and corrective electrical maintenance orders based on the results of equipment monitoring. Prioritizes with other departments preventive and corrective electrical work orders Revises electrical notifications, workload, defines the needs of third party services. Tracks the purchase requests and services of major shutdown/repairs and ensures their on-time arrival  Generates and enters follow up purchase requests for materials, spare and wear parts, ensuring just in time delivery and optimization of Net Working Capital (NWC) Completes good quality reports and spends appropriate time in the field to monitor safety and performance of plant electricians and Contractors. Support the plant automation and electrical staff in daily tasks as required Participates in the plant “On-Call” system

Qualification Profile

Education and Work Experience:

Electrical Engineering Technologist, or equivalent field experience Experience in electrical equipment repair; experience in inspection Proven experience in planning major work and plant shutdowns using computer software  Experience with Computerized Mechanical Maintenance System (SAP) Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a heavy industry. Cement experience an asset.

Knowledge and skills:

Knowledge of problem solving techniques (i.e. Pareto Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis, etc.) Root cause analysis methodology Strong computer skills Strong communicator (both oral & written) Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with plant personnel Highly motivated with ability to work autonomously Demonstrates commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals Has proven ability to work well in a team environment (co-workers, suppliers, etc.) Is well organized and systematic Costs management Has or willing to obtain Lafarge planner certification
