Laboratory Technologist II

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) II, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations and the quality control function of the laboratory. You may have advanced technical knowledge or are the lead responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of Laboratory Information System (LIS) support, site education, quality assurance or laboratory research programs. Your responsibilities may include coordinating, prioritizing, monitoring and assigning work to MLT l's, providing technical advice, problem solving and trouble shooting on a variety of laboratory instruments. In addition, you will participate in the technical aspects of the laboratory, ensuring the performance of standard and specialized procedures.

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working as an MLT in a clinical laboratory setting within the last five (5) years. Minimum one (1) year experience in the development, review and revision of policies, processes, procedures, or forms within the last five (5) years.Recent (within the last 5 years) experience with the accreditation process, including pre-assessment preparation and post-assessment follow-up activities.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulations, and experience in their interpretation and application.Recent (in the last 5 years) experience facilitating meetings and engaging stakeholders.Recent (in the last 5 years) experience in a microbiology or public health laboratory.Formal certificate in Process Improvement (e.g., AIW Green Belt), Change Management (e.g., ProSCI), Project Management and Quality Management Systems.Equivalent education and/or experience will be considered.
