About the role  

   

Join the Linguistic Services Team, in the Assistant, Business Support position. This is an excellent opportunity to play an important role in facilitating the operations of linguistic services team as well as forge and maintain relationships both internally, with CMHC clients, and externally, with the service provider.  


 

This is a temporary position for a duration of 12 months. 

 

 

What you’ll do:  

   

  • Supports the activities of the Linguistic Services team to process incoming linguistic requests.  
  • Effectively manage and maximize the timely processing of requests.   
  • Ensure submitted requests include necessary information to allow for requests to be processed without delays and in an efficient manner.  
  • Provide a comprehensive first-point-of-contact service to clients by effectively answering a wide range of questions.   
  • Analyse submitted requests using the request management system before assigning tasks to in-house translators and/or external resources based on established criteria, workload, and deadlines.   
  • Monitor group mailbox to respond to clients’ and provider’s enquiries in a timely manner.   
  • Occasionally, verify accuracy on work billed monthly.   
  • Organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities concurrently.  

   

What you should have:  

   

  • A High School diploma with experience in administrative environment.   
  • A Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in business support, preferably in a translation environment.  
  • Good knowledge of the translation request management system (FlowFit).   
  • Basic knowledge of translation and editing processes.  
  • Proven interpersonal skills (tact, judgment, diplomacy, professionalism) and effective oral and written communication skills.  
  • An ability to build relationship internally within the team and other divisions and externally with the service provider.  
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
