The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director of People & Culture and liaising directly with Pomeroy Corporate Office for all Safety & Security affairs, the incumbent is responsible for personally driving the Health & Safety commitments, including but not limited to:

Safeguarding and protecting Company assets Leading a team of three employees Harnessing cooperation from departmental leaders Ensuring the resort is always in full compliance with all permits (fire, food safety, etc) and conducting audits as required Maintain relevant safety training, inspection, permit, and policy sign off records Conduct fire and safety inspections and follow up as required Lead the Resort Health & Safety Committee & first response teams Provide first aid to guests and employees as required Liaise with local police, fire, and Alberta Parks agencies Assist in coordinating training sessions with employees and local emergency services Manage WCB claims and ensure all claims are handled effectively, including the modified work program Ensure the compliance of all OH&S regulations Assist in the review and of the Business Continuity Plan semi-annually and ensure it is current and any updated training is facilitated as necessary

Employment Experience and Requirements:

Keen eye for detail and the ability to liaise well with all leaders and employees Strong communication and conflict management skills Current Stant First Aid/CPR-C certificate  Valid Alberta Motor Vehicle Operators License Valid Alberta Basic Security License Preferred qualifications: AHSA Auditor certification, OH&S Specific training, and previous fire training
