Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our client's team in Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and compactors, to perform a range of tasks such as excavation, grading, and earthmoving.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment in compliance with Alberta occupational health and safety regulations and company policies.
Perform pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent breakdowns.
Conduct excavation, grading, and earthmoving operations according to project specifications and requirements.
Load and unload materials, such as soil, gravel, and asphalt, using heavy equipment.
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other team members to coordinate work activities and ensure project goals are met.
Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices to minimize the impact of construction activities on the surrounding environment.Qualifications:
Valid Alberta Class 1, 3 or 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in the construction or civil engineering industry.
Possession of relevant certifications/licenses, such as the Alberta Heavy Equipment Operator certification or equivalent, including specialized certification for operating a zoom boom.
In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment operation techniques, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures as per Alberta regulations.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications compliant with Alberta standards.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various weather conditions and perform repetitive tasks, adhering to Alberta occupational health and safety regulations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, following Alberta's workplace standards and protocols.Benefits:
