Description:



Northern Lights College is seeking a temporary, full-time instructor to be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of the Youth Explore Trades Sampler Program on the Fort St. John campus. This program is intended to introduce students with the opportunity to sample a variety of trades and is designed to help students gain a clearer understanding of the standards, material, instructional methods, and academic performance associated with apprenticeship training.

Note: this position is to backfill for the Fall 2024 intake with the possibility of a Winter 2025 intake, or until return of the incumbent.

  • Fall Intake: end of August to beginning of December 2024
  • Winter Intake: end of January to end of May 2025

Qualifications:



Required:

  • Red Seal Certification in Carpentry or Automotive Mechanics, or a combination of equivalent education and training may be considered.
  • A valid Driver's License.

Preferred:

  • Adult education teaching experience (including apprentices in the field).
  • Completion or enrolment in the Provincial Instructor Diploma program or an equivalent credential.
  • Preference will be given to those who have completed formal training leading to certification.
  • Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of computer software applications (including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
