Role: Manager of Child Care Operations, Peace River North (Term)

Wage: $60,000.00 to $63,672.48 Annual Salary, plus Government Wage Enhancement (currently $6.00/hour for fully certified Early Childhood Educators)

Benefits: YMCA membership, paid sick days for yourself and family, 8% vacation pay (includes scheduled operational closures), paid training, full benefits package, 5% employer-matched pension, education and career advancement opportunities

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility required to meet day-to-day operational needs of the centre

Term: October 1, 2024 - October 1, 2025 (With the possibility to extend) 

Location: Fort St John, working out of various YMCA BC centres within Peace River North

About the Program:

The YMCA BC is the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and the YMCA BC is the largest provider in the north, serving: Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Prince George, Pouce Coupe, Tumbler Ridge and Vanderhoof. YMCA Child Care is a home away from home.

Responsibilities of this role:

Responsible for relationship building, coaching and performance management Accountable for achieving operational goals and delivering the business plan for all Child Care programs within the North Peace Region Managing and collaborating with Child Care Coordinators of each respective region Ability to create a team culture dedicated to children and quality child care Ability to train using adult learning principles Ensures quality delivery of YMCA curriculums that align with Y mission, vision and goals Maintain confidentiality of information related to the centre, children, families, and staff Adhere to and ensure compliance with all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies

Qualifications:

BC ECE Degree or Diploma or combination of ECE and experience 3 years’ leadership experience in child care and child development preferred Experience leading an effective, engaged team will be considered an asset Current child care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search Three satisfactory professional references Reliable transportation within Peace River North Region
