Technician, Maintenance Quality Assurance

Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Quality Assurance, and the Supervisor, Maintenance Quality Assurance, the Technician, Maintenance Quality Assurance supports the continued improvement of the Maintenance Quality Assurance Program for Porter Airlines fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and De Havilland DHC-8 aircraft. Duties & Responsibilities Organize and lead internal audits encompassing all functions and elements necessary to confirm that the Approved Maintenance Organization and Air Operator certificates are in compliance with applicable regulations and approved manuals. Organize and lead external audits of third-party organizations including but not limited to maintenance arrangements, manufacturers, and overhaul/repair facilities, etc. Assist in maintaining detailed audit checklists for all functions and elements under the approved company manuals. Lead, conduct, and delegate activities associated with audit preparation and planning, audit performance, and audit reporting. Conduct SMS investigations including root cause analysis and the development of corrective action plans (after internal training provided). Support the Supervisor, Maintenance Quality Assurance in review of audit findings for trend analysis. Attend Maintenance Quality Assurance team meetings and Quarterly Audit Schedule meetings. Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply with, and promote the Company Safety Policy. Other tasks as assigned. Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus. Qualifications 1 to 3 years of QA experience in the aviation industry, with applicable training certification. Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent education / experience. Knowledge of TCCA’s Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR). Knowledge of FAA’s Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). Certifications and experience in quality management principles and auditing techniques (knowledge/experience in IOSA auditing principles and ISARPS are desirable). Effective communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills; keen attention to detail. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team, and to manage time effectively in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to obtain and maintain necessary airport security clearance. Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel (Canada and USA) when required.-
