Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Quality Assurance and working with the Maintenance Quality Assurance Team and the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM), the Quality Assurance Technician supports the effectiveness and continued improvement of the Maintenance Quality Assurance Program for Porter Airlines fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and De Havilland DHC-8 aircraft.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Organize and lead internal audits encompassing all functions and elements necessary to confirm that the Approved Maintenance Organization and Air Operator certificates are in compliance with applicable regulations and approved manuals.
- Organize and lead external audits of third parties including but not limited to maintenance arrangements, manufacturers, and overhaul/repair facilities, etc.
- Assist in maintaining detailed audit checklists for all functions and elements under the approved manuals.
- Conduct activities associated with audit preparation and planning, audit performance, audit reporting.
- Conduct SMS investigations including root cause analysis and the development of corrective action plans.
- Support the Supervisor, Maintenance Quality Assurance in review of audit findings for trend analysis.
- Attend Maintenance Quality Assurance team meetings and Quarterly Audit Schedule meetings.
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply with, and promote the Company Safety Policy.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

- 1 to 3 years of quality assurance auditing experience in the aviation industry, with applicable training certification.
- Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent education / experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Transport Canada Canadian Aviation Regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in quality management principles, quality assurance, and/or auditing techniques.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills; keen attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive unit and to manage time effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary airport security clearance.
- Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required.
