Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Heavy-Duty Trailer Mechanic The Heavy-Duty Trailer Mechanic is primarily responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing fleet pneumatic bulk Super B trailers and equipment.
Payrate: $30-40/hour. Payrate based on experience and ticketed status.
Duties:
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on fleet trailers. Troubleshoot and repair trailers on site and in a shop environment based on the nature of the repair. Operate the service truck for emergency truck repairs. Complete daily work orders timely and accurately to ensure all maintenance and repair activities are documented. Order, pick-up, and deliver parts as required. Provide on the job training to new employees, participating in the training and on-boarding process. Guide, support, train, and advise apprentice heavy duty mechanics on best practices, helping them troubleshoot maintenance and repairs as needed. Order tools and other parts, keeping an accurate inventory of stock on hand. Participate in all safety initiatives including, but not limited to wearing PPE, safety meetings, incident reporting, safe work practices/procedures, etc. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract. Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic designation preferred; Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanics may be considered at relevant apprentice rates. 1-2 years of prior heavy-duty mechanical experience dealing with large fleet vehicles such as Super B trailers. Previous experience working with long haul trucks and Super B trailers is an asset, including pneumatic equipment.Key Attributes:

Typical hours of work are Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30pm. Overtimes, evenings, and weekends may be required dependant on business needs
Physical Demands:
This is moderately strenuous work. Mechanics frequently lift material up to 30 pounds. Machinery and tools require frequent and consistent exertion on arms, hands, and fingers. Work environment is typically indoors in a shop environment; however, mechanics are frequently outdoors pulling in fleet vehicles or even driving out onto job sites, freeways, or roads with service truck for emergency truck repairs.
