Job Description

To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Engineering Department, achieving maximum employee job satisfaction and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces at the hotel, ensuring high standards of quality and maintaining a safe working environment.

Starting Rate: $38.57 per hour 

Compensation will increase every year on September 1st. As of September 1, 2025, the rate of pay for this position will be $39.53

Job Duties Include:

Reporting to the Lead Hand Painter, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service 
  • Wood furniture staining and refinishing
  • Perform painting duties following established procedures and guidelines, including preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paint, and cleaning tools and equipment
  • Ensure work areas are clean and safe, and that all tools and equipment are properly maintained
  • Assess the condition of surfaces to be painted, and recommend appropriate paints and coatings
  • Work with other tradespeople, including carpenters and maintenance staff, to coordinate painting projects and ensure timely completion
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time and materials used
  • Completing work order requests for the hotel & staff accommodations
  • You will be working in our hotel guest areas and within maintenance program
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, and report any safety hazards or incidents immediately
  • Able to work flexible hours according to business levels and/or emergencies 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications

  • Journey Person Painter certification
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment
  • Valid Canadian’s Drivers licence or International equivalent 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Manual dexterity and physical ability to lift up to 25 kg
