Responsibilities

What your day will look like:

Technical Work

Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff in the development of detailed design contract packages; Assistance to project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of transportation structures; Completion of detailed design drafting for a variety of project types; Application of 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and other specialty programs to produce design drawings; Preparation of construction drawings/documents; Assistance with contract administration tasks including construction observation, shop drawing review, contractor submittal review, progress payment preparation, and responding to requests for information;  Coordination and completion of site assessments, construction observation and construction management of site documentation; Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

Education

Diploma program from an accredited Architectural or Engineering Technologist Program, or equivalent.

Experience

2-5 Years of experience in the engineering consulting industry; Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills; Highly organized and detail oriented; Proficient use of current AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other Bridge Information Modeling (BrIM) software is considered an asset; Knowledge of Civil 3D is considered an asset; Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial/industry engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements is considered an asset; Understanding of the range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration is considered an asset.
