1st/2nd/3rd Year Apprentice Pipefitter

POSITION SUMMARY

Apprentice Pipefitters required for a pipe fabrication ship along with modular assembly located in Crossfield working with spools ranging from 3/4" to 48" in diameter. Employees are expected to support and participate in a "culture of safety" and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness. POSITION DETAILS Based out of Crossfield fabrication facility Shift is Monday to Friday 10 hour days CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, acorn, P&ID’s, etc.) Assist journeyperson pipefitters and welders with spool fabrication Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required lengths Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems Assist with trailer loading and unloading QUALIFICATIONS Education Must be a registered 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing Able to lift 50 pounds Comfortable working outdoors
