Who are we looking for?

This position is an excellent opportunity to be part of an established Solid Waste practice with an exciting future ahead. We are seeking a technically strong Waste Management Leader who wants play an active role in growing our waste management team to leverage GHD’s significant experience in new and innovative technologies in waste management. This role can be located in Vancouver, Calgary, or Edmonton.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Provide leadership in line with GHD’s core values Establishing long-lasting client relationships with municipal and private clients and prospects Provide mentorship and leadership to technical staff across our offices Provide internal leadership in the growth and direction of the North American Waste Management Team Lead proposals for new projects Lead municipal and private client accounts Lead GHD’s waste management projects including planning and design of composting facilities, anaerobic digestion facilities, landfills, transfer stations, composting facilities, material recovery facilities, transfer stations, renewable natural gas projects and waste to energy projects. Own the preparation of technical reports and complete peer reviews of designs completed by others in the Waste Management group Undertake liaison activities with regulators

What you will bring to the team:

20+ years of experience in the solid waste industry Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a consulting role 10 years' experience in a business development role Engineer, scientist or planner Willingness and ability for overnight travel Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work in a highly-skilled and diversified project team
