Your responsibilities in this role

  • Process all Accounts Payable and ensure timely vendor and agent commission payments.
  • Record daily carrier deposits.
  • Interact with third-party auditors and prepare necessary schedules.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank transactions.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and adjustments.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of monthly General Ledger transactions.
  • Assist in maintaining confidential employee files to support HR.
  • Create weekly timesheets.
  • Process bi-weekly commission payments.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for new hires.
  • Support regulatory compliance, including financial and tax reporting, year-end payroll tax documents, and GST/PST returns.
  • Conduct other ad hoc analysis, reporting, or functions as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Finance.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or equivalent is required.
  • Enrolled in CPA program, working towards or CPA designation preferred.
  • Working towards a professional designation is required.
  • Experience using QuickBooks Online is required.
  • Strong business and finance acumen, with an understanding of business and the interconnectivity of financials.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Sales Tax is required; knowledge of American Sales Tax is a strong asset.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively solve problems.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems.
