Position: Financial Analyst
Location: Cambridge and Hybrid
Southbridge Health Care LP (Southbridge) is currently looking to add a talented Financial Analyst to our amazing corporate finance team at our head office in Cambridge, ON. Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations Finance, the FA will work on a team responsible for the financial reporting of Long-Term Care and Retirement homes. The FA will be involved at various depths with financial reporting, regulatory remittances, accounting, treasury, compliance, and audit.
Southbridge is the owner and operator of long-term care homes and retirement communities in Ontario. Southbridge’s mission is to operate a best-in-class portfolio of care homes and retirement communities that consistently deliver excellence in care and services in an economically sustainable manner.
Responsibilities:- Leading the financial accounting for select Southbridge properties, the FA will partner with the Executive Directors, Operations Vice Presidents, and the finance team, to ensure overall financial success for their portfolio of homes. From the top to the bottom line, the FA is responsible for the financial results of the homes in their portfolio, having complete oversight to provide the corporate management team accurate and timely results to aid in decision making.
- Work alongside various departments and facilities to complete the monthly full cycle accounting for Long Term Care and Retirement facilities.
- Monitor monthly performance metrics, conduct variance analysis and ensure timely proper reporting to the corporate reporting team.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process.
- Participate in monthly results calls with the properties.
- Analyze and submit regulatory and tax compliance to all provincial/local regulations and laws and regulations relating to the properties.
- Participate in the ARR audit and assist with other reporting for long term care homes to the MOLTC.
- Participate in the interim and year end audit process; including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and liaison with auditors.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) preferred or in progress.
- Experience with full cycle accounting.
- An in-depth understanding of the senior care continuum.
- Understanding of accounting and tax requirements for Canadian senior housing companies, including in-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- High level understanding of fiscal management.
