Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Packaging Coordinator at our 352 Arvin Ave. location.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure:

Reporting to the Assistant Quality Manager or designate. The Quality Technician is responsible for auditing and inspecting production processes & parts for proper adherence to pre-assigned quality systems. Communicate Safety, Quality and Delivery issues and develop and report out on Quality of Product using statistical techniques. Be familiar with and practice and promote all aspect of the ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality System and Health & Safety policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Statistical analysis of product and process to drive improvements and reduce scrap.
  • Monthly report out of dimensional Statistical data for all product lines. (CpK/PpK)
  • Complete Process Performance Studies, assist with onsite Gauge R & R Studies, Product Capability studies, assist in mark up prints, etc.
  • Complete operator process review for following procedures with report out to QE"s and recommended actions.
  • Assist with the development and review of work instructions and Quality Alerts.
  • Help in the coordination and facilitation of APQP's activities and prepare all necessary documentation
  • Complete Process Performance Studies, assist with onsite Gauge R & R Studies, mark up prints, etc.
  • Assist with the completion of Shift Reports
  • Assist with reviewing and completing, document and communicate First Offs and In Process inspection when required
  • Support Overtime Needs for Production and launch activities as needed - back up to assist with Quality Auditors
  • Develop and complete MSA on gauges in accordance with customer specific requirements.
  • Assist QE's with Reviewing Supplier PPAP's when needed
  • Work with SQE to assist suppliers to develop new programs
  • Complete special projects, with full reports and submission to management.
  • Review programs for continuous improvement
  • Assist in the initiation and complete Root cause analysis on all verbal and written customer concerns
  • Assist in the development, construction and evaluation of all fixtures and gauges
  • Assist in the maintenance of Quarantine Area
  • Incoming inspection of supplier components when applicable
  • May be required to visit supplier locations
  • Develop and maintain all quality records
  • Other duties as assigned by Assistant Quality Manager or designate
  • ISO9001:2015 AND IATF16949 duties as required
  • Work rotating shifts Days/Afternoons

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma (Mechanical/Industrial/ Quality or Chemical Engineering, C.Q.T.)
  • PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and Corrective action process
  • Minitab data analysis (CPK/PPK)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a hand-on technical/quality manufacturing role
  • Exposure to injection moulding, painting and assembly
  • Exposure to IATF16949 procedures
  • Experience in computer systems (Windows, Microsoft Office, Macros and Data base)
  • Experience with working with customers such as Ford, GM and Chrysler
