Adecco is actively seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Brantford, ON. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing custom refrigeration units using SolidWorks Sheetmetal and Radan CAM software. This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $73,000.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing and preparing accurate engineering drawings for quoting, design approval, and production.
  • Utilizing SolidWorks Sheetmetal and Radan CAM software to create detailed drawings and CNC programs.
  • Creating assembly drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, and project specifications.
  • Verifying and ensuring drawings conform to specifications and design data, obtaining necessary approvals from the Engineering Manager and Sales before production.
  • Completing documentation packages and CNC nesting as required for the fabrication and assembly of refrigeration units.
  • Supporting shop floor fabrication and assembly activities.
  • Ensure drawings are completed accurately and efficiently within the given timelines.
  • Continuously seek improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends and tools through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Maintain a collaborative team environment and effective communication with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Adhere to safety policies and report any concerns.
Requirements:
  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • 4+ Years of Flat Metal Design Engineering Experience: Expertise in developing and preparing accurate engineering drawings for quoting, design approval, and production, with a focus on custom sheet metal enclosures for Refrigeration units.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks-Sheet Metal & CAM Software: Extensive experience using SolidWorks Sheetmetal and CAM Software to create detailed drawings and CNC programs.
  • CNC Programming Knowledge: Skilled in CNC Turret Punch Press Programming and operations with a strong understanding of G Codes for precise creation of nests CNC programming for Amada equipment.
  • Radan CAM software programing experience an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to create precise engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
