About the Role

Adecco Canada is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in a full-time position. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing custom refrigeration units using SolidWorks Sheetmetal and Radan CAM software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Develop and prepare accurate engineering drawings for quoting, design approval, and production.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize SolidWorks Sheetmetal and Radan CAM software to create detailed drawings and CNC programs.
  • Assembly Drawings: Create assembly drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, and project specifications.
  • Verification and Approval: Verify and ensure drawings conform to specifications and design data, obtaining necessary approvals from the Engineering Manager and Sales before production.
  • Documentation and Fabrication: Complete documentation packages and CNC nesting as required for the fabrication and assembly of refrigeration units.
  • Shop Floor Support: Support shop floor fabrication and assembly activities.
  • Efficiency and Effectiveness: Ensure drawings are completed accurately and efficiently within the given timelines. Continuously seek improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Industry Trends and Tools: Stay current with industry trends and tools through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Team Environment: Maintain a collaborative team environment and effective communication with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Safety Policies: Adhere to safety policies and report any concerns.
Requirements
  • Eligibility: Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in SolidWorks Sheetmetal and Radan CAM software.
  • CNC Experience: Experience with CNC Turret Punch Press and knowledge of G Codes is an asset.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to create precise engineering drawings.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
