Reporting to the Manager, HRIS, the HRIS Business Analyst (the "BA") is responsible for supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of all HR Information Systems. The incumbent provides expertise of HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, Pension Administration processing procedures, production schedules, inputs and outputs to ensure operational execution and to successfully support and implement design changes/ enhancements.

The incumbent leverages the PeopleSoft modules, new features and functionality, seek, develop, and help implement strategic initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity. The BA would support projects relating to continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements and HR operational activities.

The incumbent also serves as a go-to person for providing functional support to technical teams, HRIS Records Analysts, HR Business Partners, payroll and other stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working with Senior BA to apply enhancements, modifications, upgrades for existing systems and troubleshoot production issues related to the HRIS System(s) and interfaces. Analyst is responsible for creating functional documentation, testing, implementation of system changes and working with different teams across IT and other departments during the lifecycle of a project or while troubleshooting production issues.  Working on projects involving but not limited to benefits, compensation, payroll, time and labor, performance management, learning, absence management and professional development, IT - recruitment projects and external interfaces. Providing recommendations for effectiveness of the system, end-to-end project deployment, participating in design workshops and liaising with cross-functional teams. Supporting the senior BA to perform HRIS Support, troubleshoot production issues , documentation (i.e. develops system and user documentation), security, reporting (i.e. query, SQL). Make recommendations on process improvement and efficient management of HRIS system(s).  Making recommendations for enhancements/modifications to systems and processes to increase productivity and works with others to evaluate new technologies. Maintaining a complete understanding of the HRIS systems and supports integration with other systems; keeps abreast of current developments in technology, collective agreements and best practices. Works with other members of the team to support/coordinate unit projects. Other duties and activities such as tax updates, year end changes, workforce admin and other Peoplesoft modules.

The successful candidate will also possess the following qualifications:

Must possess a minimum 3-year diploma/degree in Computer Science or Information Technology Must have a minimum of 7-years experience as a business analyst and proficiency in Peoplesoft(Payroll, Workforce Admin, Time and Labour and Absence Management), PeopleQuery, SQL and Human Resources (equivalencies to be considered) Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access with an ability to manipulate data Must have reporting experience with PeopleSoft Query tool
