Our Brampton client, a stable family-owned company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you'll play a key roll in the day-to-day financial activities and success of the organization including payroll administration for 200 hourly employees.
Location: Brampton, On (fully on-site)
Salary: $65-70,000/yr
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Day to Day Responsibilities:
•Prepare and maintain financial records including reconciling general ledger accounts.
•Perform accounts receivable activities including account reconciliations and payment collection.
•Process full-cycle hourly payroll including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
•Calculate and process payroll adjustments, retroactive pay and terminations.
•Prepare and submit remittances and other statutory filings.
•Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
•Prepare and submit government reports and other compliance-related documents.
•Assist with external audits, budgeting and forecasting activities.
•Assist in the preparation of reports for Senior Management.
•Maintain accurate electronic and physical records.
•Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and GAAP.
Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline OR equivalent experience.
•5+ years of professional accounting experience.
•Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting regulations.
•Computer-proficient including accounting / payroll software and MS Excel.
•Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central is a plus.
•Superb attention to detail and accuracy.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
•Excellent business communication and interpersonal skills.
