Compensation Information:

$24-$27 per hour

Physical Requirement:

Heavy, work activities involve handling loads of more than 20 kg; Predominately in an Outdoor Setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

Maintain the snowmaking system and infrastructure, including guns, pumps, hydrants, valves, and associated equipment Maintain exemplary clean, neat and safe work areas Maintain accurate, timely, and up-to-date records of inventory, maintenance, repairs, operational logs, water use, snowmaking production, labour and employee training, special project tracking and weekly safety meetings Manage departmental employee payroll log-in, clearing exceptions daily Review Departmental SOGs before snowmaking commences and again after seasonal shut-down to ensure currency and compliance with operational changes and all legal and other requirements Hiring and training a team of snowmakers. Expectations for training include a review of all relevant policies/procedures and applicable legislation, including but not limited to New and Young Workers, Occupational Health and Safety programs, Environmental Management System, etc. Assist other departments to provide exceptional experiences for our guests. This includes working with the grooming department in snow farming/maintenance of snow fencing Assist with the Events team to set up and tear down events throughout the operating seasons Work with the Nordic Operations team to set up signage and to help develop more Fat Bike Trails Responsible for the timely submission of Employee forms, documents, training records, etc., to Human Resources to ensure compliance with training and payroll requirements Undertake all accident/incident investigations and associated paperwork in this department within the required timeline Understand and work towards departmental and company goals and objectives Follow instructions, keeping close attention to detail and completion time Maintain a high standard of communication, respect for equipment, co-workers, and quality of product Adhere to all mountain operating procedures Have a solid working knowledge of Snowcat grooming and moving Snow Guns Maintain appearance and uniform to company standards Set a strong example for staff and others Demonstrate initiative, drive and respect towards co-workers and company property Be an avid skier and willing to check equipment on skis/snowboard if necessary Attend SPR LLP Orientation and Staff Functions Be an Ambassador of the Resort Take on other duties as assigned by the Outside Operations Director and Slopes Manager

Ideal Candidate:

Graduate of SROAM or equivalent preferred Five or more seasons of snowmaking experience preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset Extensive knowledge of Fan Type Snow guns and the operation and maintenance of such Able to operate snow grooming equipment and move snowguns Understand gravity feed and booster pump water systems Proven problem-solving and mechanical ability Able to work productively, both alone and as part of a team Able to run a snowmobile/ ATV with confidence Able to work outside in all weather conditions and physically fit to undertake heavy work Able to work shift work and odd hours with overtime when required Be organized and able to communicate clearly to staff and others Have strong planning, time management, and supervisory skills Must be mature, responsible, and dependable Have strong computer skills, including Word and Excel Valid driver’s license and clean Driver’s Abstract
