Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Project Management & Design

Manage a variety of Municipal Drainage projects from conceptual design through contract administration. Act as the Engineer of Record in accordance with the Municipal Drainage Act. Lead Dillon’s technical staff in the delivery of projects for a variety of clients (particularly in drainage related projects) across the company. Provide technical expertise on a variety of projects as part as part of various multidisciplinary teams (including project engineers, planners, technologists, . Liaise with multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists and technical support staff). Report writing, including detailed design, drawing preparation, cost estimating, preparation of specification and assessment schedules and attendance at site meetings and council meetings.

Learning & Development

Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development. Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring. Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

A degree in civil or environmental engineering Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months A minimum of 5 years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry Experience working under the Municipal Drainage Act Proven leadership and business development capabilities

Experience

Experience in research using historical reports and calculation of material quantities for estimation purposes Knowledge and abilities in surveying and related skills, policies, guidelines and permitting processes related to land drainage Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning Experience at leading stakeholder meetings Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential
