Cloud Chamber is looking for a talented and collaborative Lead Sound Designer to manage a team to plan, organize, create, implement, and maintain sound design-related content. You will work closely with our Audio Director and multidisciplinary teams to deliver world class interactive sound design, help design audio systems, asset pipeline and tools, and deliver on the Creative Director’s and Audio Director’s vision for an ambitious, narratively-driven game full of character and personality.

Job Duties:

Lead sound designers in planning, organizing sound design-related content & capacity planning. Ensure creative and technical alignment with the audio director and other sound designers, execute and help define the details of the project audio direction. Work closely with the technical audio team to contribute the design of systems, tools and workflows to maximize quality and use of resources. Drive the creative and technical kick-off and review process and oversee the work of other audio team members contributing to areas of ownership. Give clear creative feedback to help people grow and align. Ensure best practices and sound design knowledge is shared among the sound design team. Be a central point of communication between the wider team and the sound design team and advocate for the sound design team to the wider team. Build and maintain strong working relationships with key collaborators. Coordinate and lead meetings. As a leader in the audio department, ensure that you and your team are an example to others of company values. Coordinate sound design outsourcing. Mentor/Coach team members in sound design. Proactively deal with problems and risks.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

8+ years’ experience in AAA sound design. At least 1 AAA title shipped in an Audio Lead / Sound Design Lead role. A passion for game audio. Good fit with team culture. Strong & diplomatic communication skills and meeting facilitation skills. Reliable, dependable and able to humbly take on authority. Solid organizational and time management skills. Good understanding and experience of UE5, Blueprints, Wwise and technical audio systems. Good audio control logic design & scripting ability. Advanced knowledge of DAWs such as Pro Tools and Reaper, as well as sample editors and plug-ins. Strong understanding of theoretical and practical audio engineering principles & techniques. Strong organizational and communication skills, with a critical eye for detail. Highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to embrace change for a fast-growing organization. Ability to partner with a diverse group of personalities effectively and constructively. The ability to problem-solve and prioritize issues while developing a production pipeline Mature outlook on work ethics and responsibilities. Champion of high standards, pushing for progress, embracing change, and challenging the status quo. Able to respond elegantly to difficult creative changes, often late in the process A positive force multiplier with a great team-player attitude  Self-motivated, curious, and collaborative.
