About the Role

A small film company specialising in short documentary films about people and plants is seeking talented filmmakers to create content in various locations, including Toronto. This is a commission-based opportunity with potential for ongoing work.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce a 3-5 minute documentary film about people doing interesting things with plants
  • Source and develop compelling stories within the given theme (subject to company approval)
  • Conduct interviews and manage all aspects of film production
  • Deliver high-quality footage meeting the company's specified standards

Requirements

  • Experience in documentary filmmaking, particularly in short-form content
  • Strong storytelling skills with an eye for unique and engaging narratives
  • Proficiency in video production, including filming and editing
  • Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of production
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with subjects and producers
