Job Title: Junior Accountant
Location: Kingston, ON.
On-Site.

Our client, a trusted environmental management company is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team.

Position Description

The focus of the role will be maintaining the accounting records at the divisional level and to assist in timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Position Responsibilities
 

  • Assist with review of daily work submissions of accounts receivable.

  • Back-up coverage for accounts receivable as required.

  • Assist with other daily and weekly financial requirements as assigned.

  • Perform required month-end reconciliations and prepare corresponding documentation for approval and processing. (bank reconciliations, petty cash reconciliation, accounts receivable ledgers, accruals, accounts payable ledgers and related accruals).

  • Ensure the financial and accounting policies and programs are followed and comply with generally accepted accounting principles

  • Other duties and projects may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable understanding of full cycle accounting.

  • 3-5 years experience or post-secondary education in accounting or business strongly preferred

  • Experience with Quickbooks and Sage 300 is preferred

  • Experience with TRUX Business Solution Software would be considered an asset

  • Strong computer skills in all office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects

  • Position is 100% onsite
