Reporting to the Production Control Coordinator, this position will assist the team in ensuring product is getting planted and harvested in a timely manner and in good quality

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with Production Control Coordinator and other team members to ensure daily tasks are being completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure product is meeting quality standards (ie. Plants are free of pests, seed counts are good, plants are centered and not broken at time of planting or harvesting)
  • Report any health and safety concerns to the Production Control Coordinator
  • Problem solving in relation to equipment, missing product for orders or daily issues that may occur
  • Abide by GAP protocols
  • General set up and clean up duties
  • Filling trays with pots and pots with soil
  • Tagging sleeving, propping and labeling plants
  • Boxing and wrapping plants for shipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Previous greenhouse experience an asset
  • Must wear steel toe shoes/boots
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, standing for extended periods of time, repetitive work
  • Reliable, team player
  • Communication – keep communication open and consistent with team members
  • Organization/Maintain clean work environment – keep the working environment clean and organized
  • Physical Labour – Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, lift materials when required
