About the role 
Join the Apartment Construction Loan Program, in the role of Specialist, Multi-Unit (housing program). In this position, your financial analysis skills and passion for building strong client relationships will help achieve our government program objectives. 
 
This is a temporary position with a duration of 24 months. 


What you’ll do: 

Apply sound judgement and decision-making practices based on complex financial analysis while making recommendations. Identify and manage risk by exercising due diligence while reviewing and approving complex requests, monitoring the quality of results and reviewing key performance indicators. Provide guidance in the use of technical financial tools, and review requests that are complex, high value or involve significant risk.  Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs, objectives, and explore opportunities. Develop and coach other team members.  Communicate decisions, interpreting policies and responding to inquiries related to CMHC’s housing programs.  Implement process improvements for increased efficiencies and enhanced customer experience. Manage politically sensitive issues by demonstrating critical thinking, judgment and know-how to find solutions.

 
What you should have: 

A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce and seven (7) years’ experience in construction financing, real estate, financial markets or credit risk analysis for Multi-Unit properties.  Proven experience in program administration.  Specialized knowledge of housing financing.  Expert knowledge of underwriting theories, principles and processes.  The ability to present ideas in a clear and convincing manner in order to have proposals or plans accepted.  The ability to motivate others, influence and develop their potential.
