Rebar Fabricator

Primary Duties and

Responsibilities Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values. This is an entry level position. Incumbent may operate any one of the following machines: Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths. Operate an overhead crane to move, assemble, and select material to be fabricated or shipped. Unload trailers and store materials in storage bins.  Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.  Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.  Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.  Inspect equipment and put safety at the forefront of all actions and decision making

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements 

Must have strong math skills to be able to calculate bar measurements  High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands 

Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds, some heavy lifting may be necessary. Working conditions can be noisy/dusty/hot/cold/ Outdoor shop, exposed to all elements.

Special Demands

Work schedule: 7:30am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday Overtime hours may be required to accommodate operational demands (during peak seasons) Must be able to work any shift.  Must become familiar with and adhere to shop safety policies and procedures.
