Application Engineer – Instrumentation and Controls

Location: Delta, BC

The opportunity:

MT Talent is proud to partner with a leading designer, manufacturer and integrator of gas and air quality detection solutions. As they continue to grow and provide solutions to customers globally, they are seeking an energetic and talented Application Engineer to join their team. This role is located in their Detla, BC office and is in in-person position.

The Application Engineer will develop solutions servicing a diverse customer base in the residential, commercial, industrial and institutional sectors. You will review engineering plans, understand the application, design quality systems, create drawings and submittal packages, and then support the customer through installation. 

Personality is key for this role, so even if you don’t have experience with all of the above, with the right foundational education and attitude, you will be provided with the training, resources, and support necessary to succeed

Here’s what you’ll be doing in the role:

Review plans and project specifications received from customers  Design Gas Detection systems for a wide variety of applications and prepare quotes for customers  Create project drawings quotes and submittals packages for dealers and engineers  Provide post-sale technical and installation support for projects you design  Deliver technical training and education to dealers, technicians, and engineers  Share insights with the broader CET team and provide input on product direction 
Here’s what you bring to the role:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Automation and Robotics, or similar area of Engineering 1 or more years’ experience with instrumentation and controls design work Experience with gas detection, HVAC, controls and/or instrumentation is preferred Familiar with building plans and software used to edit building plans Strong computer skills including MS Office and engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Visio Excellent written and oral English communication skills Proven ability to present to a group or individuals, including virtual presentations A collaborative, team-oriented attitude Strong attention detail, highly organized and able to complete work to specific deadlines Analytical with a desire to deliver quality work A positive, resilient, and curious personality that is eager to grow and learn Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present to a group in person and/or virtually
