Summary of the Duties and Responsibilities of the Job
Kynze is an electronics and firmware engineering firm specializing in the design of complex connected sensors operating in safety and performance critical environments. Kynze also performs systems integration of these sensors within the customer’s end use applications.
The Project Manager (PM) is primarily responsible for:
- The planning and oversight of the new product development projects
- Producing effort and cost estimates
- The elaboration of project plans
- The coordination of project execution with the development team
- Governance
- Preparation of dashboards for the management team
The PM is expected to produce and analyze all relevant metrics in order to best anticipate issues and provide corrective action recommendations to the management team.
This position includes operational activities as well in support of the business, such as proposal preparation, cost accounting, supplier payments, etc. The PM will also be responsible for supplier management and is expected to perform some customer-facing activities and participate in the elaboration of proposals.
The PM will report directly to the President. Given the central role of this position in the daily business operations of the company and the need for close collaboration, it is expected the PM will perform his/her activities from our offices.

Le gestionnaire de projet (GP) est principalement responsable de :
- La planification et de la supervision des projets de développement de nouveaux produits
- La production d'estimations d'efforts et de coûts
- L’élaboration de plans de projet
- La coordination de l'exécution du projet avec l'équipe de développement
- La gouvernance
- La préparation de tableaux de bord pour l'équipe de direction
Le GP doit produire et analyser toutes les mesures pertinentes afin de mieux anticiper les problèmes et de fournir des recommandations de mesures correctives à l'équipe de direction.
Ce poste comprend des activités opérationnelles ainsi qu'en soutien à l'entreprise, telles que la préparation des propositions, la comptabilité analytique, les paiements des fournisseurs, etc. Le gestionnaire de projet sera également responsable de la gestion des fournisseurs et devra effectuer certaines activités en contact avec la clientèle et participer à l'élaboration des propositions.
Ce rôle relève directement du président. Compte tenu du rôle central de ce poste dans les opérations courantes de l'entreprise et de la nécessité d'une collaboration étroite, il est prévu que le GP exerce ses activités à partir de nos bureaux.

Requirements
Technical ExpertiseThe Project Manager should possess the following technical skills:
- Traditional project management methods such as Gantt charts, resource-leveling, critical path and functional decomposition
- Agile methods
- Earned Value Management
- Risk Management
- Requirements Management
- Scope Management, including change control processes
- Software and hardware estimating techniques
- Understanding of hardware and software development processes
- Basic knowledge of electronic hardware and software elements
- Experience in bringing a product to market is an asset
- University degree, preferably in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years experience in project management of software and/or hardware development projects
- Experience with professional project management software
- Previous experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Ability to learn new technologies
- Ability to work under pressure
- Comfortable with presentations to senior management and customers
- Fluency in English and French is required
