Packaging Coordinator New Model Development

The Packaging Coordinator New Model Development will engage with operations, engineering, and new model quality to ensure that new strategies for FG Backup & Service Expendable Phase Packaging is developed and effective from a cost, throughput, safety, quality, and longevity perspective. This position will contribute to maintaining capital spend within program requirements by ensuring vendors meet pack standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

Initiate FG backup and service expendable packaging development request with supplier. Initiate PKG Purchase Req's for expendable and returnable packaging (where applicable). Manage suppliers(s) with new containers (both returnable and extendable). Initiate WIP backup expendable packaging development request with supplier. Catalogue existing packaging and containers. Manage RFQ data summary sheet. Manage weekly production tracking sheet. Weekly follow-up with supplier(s), customers on packaging delivery status. Initiate and attend packaging review meetings with Plasman plants. Follow up with suppliers after PKG reviews with changes required and next steps. Support the plant(s) as required with packaging issues relating to launch issues. Create PKG BOM and required documents for plants. Preliminary packaging review at supplier location when required during launch. Attend & Support Plant APCQ/ Launch meetings. Manage phased out containers and develop plans to refurbish for new projects. Coordinate rack retrofit projects between plant and suppliers. Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times. Ensure personal awareness and understanding of ISO and IATF/TS Standards, and company policies and procedures

MINIMUM EDUCATION /OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a post-secondary diploma/degree in Engineering and/or relevant technical education/experience.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Must have 2+ years' experience within automotive packaging field. Experience with additional 3D modeling software is considered an asset. Have an excellent working knowledge of automotive exterior plastics.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Able to travel through the Continental US and Canada
