WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Develop, support, and maintain the Splunk Enterprise log analytics platform in Global Functions Technology Risk IT. In performing this role, you will seek to build scalable, reliable, well-performing and secure solutions that interface with all Risk IT applications. You will also work with other tools in our observability stack and write automation code using Ansible Automation Platform while also partnering with our automation development team to implement application self-healing solutions. The role reports into our Run-The-Bank organization; you’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow, expanding your knowledge base and getting hands-on experience with SRE, DevOps, ITIL, release management, and software development.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Assist technical users with Splunk Enterprise platform, including query assistance and the creation of alerts

  • Perform Splunk Enterprise platform maintenance, such as major and minor product upgrades, TLS certificate renewal

  • Automate routine maintenance tasks with Ansible Automation Platform

  • Be able to analyze, investigate, and solve technical problems starting only from simple error messages

  • Apply ITIL concepts such as Incident, Change, and Problem management in completing your work.

  • Collaborate with automation development team to implement the observability component of self-healing automation workflows.

  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks.  Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar university program

  • Working experience implementing Production-ready code in a modern scripting language such as Python

  • Production application support experience (development or operations) with an understanding of application logging practices.

  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, version control, and continuous integration concepts

  • Time management: make continuous progress on longer-term initiatives while completing short-term tasks in a timely manner.

Nice-to-have:

  • Working experience with Splunk Enterprise and Ansible Automation Platform

  • Experience working in regulated environment that requires strong change, incident, and security controls
